Mr. Sarwat is a zoologist with specializations in the fields of Experimental Ecology and Aquaculture and in Environmental Management. He is the former supervisor of the Environmental Development Department at the West Delta Regional Branch Office (RBO) of the EEAA located in Alexandria. He has carried out numerous activities related to biodiversity preservation and ecological assessment studies embracing various locations and different ecosystems throughout Egypt. His experience in the field covers terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecology. Besides, he has contributed to numerous achievements in different other environmental fields including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies, hazardous substances and waste management, coastal zone management, and industrial audits/inspections. Furthermore, he has carried out several EIA training activities involving trainees from the EEAA, RBOs, industries and Governorates. Mr. Sarwat has local and international experience as he participated in development projects related to the rehabilitation of fish resources in Italy and Canada.

Eng. Mohamed Taha has over 20 years of experience in the fields of environmental management; environmental compliance; waste management; environmental monitoring; monitoring and spill response, and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction. His experience covers different sectors, including: oil and gas; petrochemicals; industry; mining; tourism; infrastructure, and others. Having held the position of Environmental Advisor at BG Egypt for 5 years, Eng. Taha has excellent knowledge of the oil and gas industry. Additionally, he has been an environmental consultant for over 13 years, carrying out numerous environmental studies: Environmental Assessments, Public Consultations, Audits and Reviews in accordance with national and international laws and guidelines. Eng. Taha’s specific experience in the oil and experience encompasses: conducting and implementing environmental monitoring programs (covering marine, groundwater, air quality and noise environments; carrying out several field investigations within Egypt and abroad, using a variety of field equipment, as well as supervising a number of detailed marine field surveys, which included bathymetric surveys, collection of water and sediment samples for onsite and laboratory analyses of chemical and biological indicators and current measurements. Moreover, Eng. Taha has conducted traffic studies and a health risk assessment, in addition to participating in a survey on environmental legislation in nine Middle Eastern countries. His educational background and earlier work as a civil engineer provides him with a good understanding of infrastructure projects, including roads, wastewater networks and treatment.

Mr. Fouad studied marine biology and fish science in Faculty of Marine science, Al- Azhar University, Egypt and graduated in 2003. He started his career as a volunteer in marine protected areas in south Sinai, then employed in aquacultures sector in the General Authority for Fish Resources Development, then selected to work in Nature Conservation sector in the Ministry of Environmental Affairs in 2006. He was a member of planning unit team for management effectiveness of Protected Areas. He received his master from Al-Azhar University in Marine Science collage, Egypt, on Ecological relationships of Marine Benthos inhabiting Mangrove in the Red Sea in 2009. He got a Diploma of Marine Mammals Biology and conservation from the International University of Menéndez Pelayo, Spain in 2010. He participated in many surveys on cetacean such as sperm whales survey in the eastern part of Mediterranean with Song of The Whale vessel by IFAW. Mr. Fouad was the Mentor of Egypt in the MedPAN Souty – WWF Mediterranean Regional Project (2010-2012). He has recently been chosen to join the board of directors of MedPAN Association in 2013. He has also participated in establishing the national action plan for cetacean conservation in Mediterranean in Egypt between 2012 – 2016.
Doaa Abou Elailah

Eng. Abou Elailah is a certified EMS Auditor, with a long experience as an HSE and institutional development consultant. She has been involved for over 6 years in the design, construction, and operation phases of the first modern gold mine in Egypt, Sukari Gold Mine, and is currently its HSE advisor. Over the years, she has conducted more than 220 multi-media HSE audits for different sectors; oil and gas, industrial sector including pharmaceutical, chemical, food, textiles and engineering, as well as infrastructure and service facilities. She has contributed to the development of numerous environmental regulatory policies, strategies, and systems in areas such as upgrading the Egyptian EIA, negotiated agreements, inspection, hazardous waste, enforcement, indicators, remediation, economic incentives, decentralization, and other operating procedures. Additionally, she has participated in the evaluation of a number of donor-funded projects. She was also involved in numerous assignments related to industrial estates including environmental management guidelines and EIAs. She has prepared many EIA studies for different sectors including industry, mining, infrastructure, tourism and services, in addition to numerous pollution abatement plans, compliance action plans, pre-screening activities, including management and treatment schemes for different pollution problems and cleaner production. She has also participated in the needs assessment, planning, design and implementation of several on-the-job training modules focusing on inspection, auditing, planning and management systems, and is experienced with modelling and simulation techniques.
Ayman Afifi Gomaa

Mr. Afifi has an extensive experience in the fields of environmental planning and management. He started his career as an environmental researcher at the Southern Sinai Protected Areas Sector progressed until he was assigned the position of Acting General Manager of the Red Sea Protectorates Sector. His areas of experience and interest include marine, coastal, and terrestrial environments; biodiversity conservation; coastal zone management; tropical marine ecosystem management; environmental impact assessment; environmental planning, and management of marine protected areas. He has a background in GIS and Remote Sensing; and is a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, and U/W PADI Photographer Diver. He contributed to the declaration of protected areas in Egypt such as Wadi Al-Gemal National Park, the Northern Red Sea Islands Protected Area, and Sallum Marine Protected Area.

Eng. Dalia Nakhla has a long experience as an environmental engineer. She is an expert in the area of environmental management, especially environmental impact assessment (EIA). Moreover, she has participated in the design and implementation of several on-the-job training modules for environmental managers including Training of Trainers modules. She was also directly involved in the formulation of an environmental policy for the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) to adequately address all environmental concerns in Egypt’s water resources development and management.

She has participated in many environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) and has worked on several projects that entailed: Training of social surveyors and field researchers on qualitative and quantitative tools; conducting beneficiary assessment and social feasibility studies; intensive public consultation for community environmental issues using qualitative and quantitative methods; extensive social surveys in urban and rural Egypt; use of participatory rapid appraisal methods, and zzcarrying out evaluation and participatory monitoring studies of development projects.
