- The Egyptian New & Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) is planning to establish a PV Power Park in West Menia area, Menia Governorate.
- RA Solar has been awarded a land plot in the PV park to establish a 30 MW Photovoltaic (PV) plant under FIT Scheme.
- Environics was commissioned to assess the Environmental and Social Risks associated with the PV plant.
- The E&S assessment addressed mainly the level of risk/complexity of meeting the relevant national regulations as well as performance guidelines of the International Financing Institutions (IFIs). It also provided recommendations for the actions to be taken to meet the requirements and their expected time frame, as much as possible. The E&S assessment was based on the results of the meetings carried out with the different regulatory bodies, the project developers and the site visit to the project area in Menia.
