Flash flood Modeling, Surface Water Conditions and Groundwater Hydrology Investigation for an Oil and Gas Project at the Eastern Desert

Share:
  • Within the scope of the ESIA study required for the seismic acquisition project of TransGlobe Energy at the Northwest Gharib, Southwest Gharib and Southeast Gharib Concessions, Environics investigated the surface water conditions, flash flood hazard and groundwater hydrology of the study area.
  • This investigation comprised: analyses of morphological and meteorological conditions; rainfall losses; hydrological analysis and modeling, and flood hazard assessment.
  • The investigation also analysed groundwater hydrology, including: hydrogeological units; well inventory; groundwater use, levels and flow direction; hydraulic properties of aquifer systems; groundwater quality and interaction with surface water, as well as its vulnerability to pollution and importance in the area.
