The Egyptian Refining Company (ERC) was in the process of constructing a refinery at the Mostorod site of Cairo Oil Refining Company (CORC). To ensure safe workplace environment for the construction operations, airborne Asbestos monitoring was required at 10 areas of the site. Environics was assigned to carry out the monitoring study.
Environics cooperated with the Egyptian Environmental Consultant Co. (EECC), a licensed laboratory, to carry out this assignment, which entailed:
– Site investigation to identify sampling locations;
– Sampling and analysis of potential airborne Asbestos fibers, which could result from soil disturbance during the ongoing construction activities at the site ;
– Final report presenting results, conclusions and recommendations.
