Scoped EIA for Bypass Dust Landfill by Arabian Cement Company (ACC) Plant, Suez-Katameya Road, Ain Sokhna

  • The Arabian Cement Company (ACC) has been disposing of its plant’s bypass dust at a temporary landfill that it was authorized to use by Suez Governorate until an industrial waste landfill is established by the governorate.  Since the governorate’s landfill project was postponed, ACC had to establish its own landfill for bypass dust.  Environics was commissioned to carry out the EIA required for the new landfill.
  • Environics visited the site of the proposed landfill and reviewed the relevant documents to develop the EIA that discussed: the proposed methods for handling, transporting and landfilling bypass dust; project alternatives; environmental impacts, and the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan.

EIA for the expansion in the Alternative Fuel waste storage area

  •  Environics was commissioned by the Arabian Cement Company to prepare an EIA study (Form-B) for the proposed expansions in the Alternative Fuel waste storage area.
  • Environics provided a description of the environment (natural, biological, and social) in the project area, as well as description of the project phases.  Also, it reviewed the proposed alternatives to the project site and provided a list of the environmental laws applicable to the proposed project, the maximum levels of the relevant environmental aspects, and an assessment of the potential environmental impacts, as well as the environmental management plan to mitigate or prevent these impacts.
