- Environics has been engaged by the consortium of Masdar, Infinity Power Holding BV, and Hassan Allam Utilities to support the development of a 900 MW solar PV project with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in El Wahat, New Valley Governorate.
- Environics prepared a preliminary Environmental and Social (E&S) Scoping Note, which was reviewed with the Client and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Following these discussions, Environics is developing a detailed E&S Scoping Report for EBRD’s feedback and clearance, to serve as the foundation for the subsequent Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA).
- The scoping phase focused on identifying key environmental and social impacts, risks, and associated facilities, and defining the scope of studies required for the ESIA. This includes a combination of desk review, site visits, and stakeholder consultations with relevant authorities and local communities.
- Upon EBRD’s acceptance of the scoping report, Environics prepared the full ESIA, along with a Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) and Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) Frameworks, ensuring alignment with Egyptian regulatory requirements, EBRD Performance Requirements, and IFC Performance Standards.
