Renergy Egypt Group Partners LLC (Renergy), a consortium of Green Tech Egypt, OAK Group Holdings, and the Ministry of Military Production, plans to build a large Green Hydrogen Production Plant in El Tor, South Sinai. Due to environmental sensitivities in the area, the project is undergoing phased environmental studies, beginning with a screening phase.
The screening report aims to give Renergy an early understanding of potential environmental constraints to guide key decisions before moving to the scoping and full assessment phases. It includes:
- A description of project components and their potential impacts.
- An overview of the project area with maps.
- Sensitivity maps showing project components in relation to environmental sensitivities.
- A preliminary impact assessment highlighting risks, constraints, and red flags.
- Conclusions and recommendations covering legal/environmental constraints, consultation and study requirements, and suggested ESIA approaches.
