The Ministry of Education and Technical Education (MoETE), is leading a process to transform the technical education system to address labor market demand for a skilled workforce.
Promotion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Egypt (TEREE) is a project implemented by GOPA Infra, in consortium with GOPA Worldwide Consultants (Including their sub-consultant – Environics) and is assisting the Ministry in developing CoCs in the field of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. The project is financed through KfW and the EU Mandate.
The following points have been agreed to be essential tasks of Environics as the Environmental and Social Advisors in the project:
- Ensuring compliance with international Environmental, Social, Health and Safety (ESHS) standards.
- Providing the client with services, which include:
- Environmental and Social (E&S) Screening on Candidate sites
- Quality reviewing of two proposed CoC sites; providing a screening report, developed or reviewed, for each proposed school site.
- Elaboration of Environmental and Social Management Plants (ESMP), focusing on the construction phase of the project, including refurbishment and upgrading.
- Review and comment on ESMF document of the project
- Verify the ESHS classification level of the proposed contracts
- Compile a comprehensive project-specific Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP)
