American Standard Company owns four industrial facilities in the 10th of Ramadan City, which are: Trane for air conditioning and chillers, and three Ideal Standard plants producing: acrylic sheets; vitreous China and brass fittings, and bathtubs.
Environics participated in an environmental audit for the four facilities, which showed some noncompliance with the Egyptian environmental regulations. Ideal Standard Egypt commissioned Environics to develop environmental monitoring plans for the four facilities.
Environics conducted walkthroughs and reviews of information and documents. The site investigations identified the pollution parameters and the relevant terms of reference for the laboratories to perform preliminary measurements and analyses.
Based on the results of measurements, the environmental performance of the each facility was assessed, and a comprehensive monitoring plan was accordingly prepared.
