Ecological Study for ENEL Wind Power Plant Plots, Ras Gharib, Red Sea

Share:
  • ENEL Green Power (EGP) was in the process of establishing two Wind Power Plants (a capacity of 50 MW each) at the Gulf of Suez, to function under the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme.
  • EGP requested Environics to carry out an Ecology Survey of the project area to feed into the plant design and consequently the ESIA for the Wind Power Plants project.
  • Environics based the Ecology Report on both desk studies and field surveys of the project area, its surroundings and wider area.
  • The surveys were extensive and intensive covering the habitats, the flora and fauna.  An assessment of the potential species occurring in the project area was also carried out.  Moreover, the report evaluated the biodiversity value.
