- The Egyptian Company for Agricultural Residue Utilization and the Engineering Tasks Group commissioned Environics to conduct an environmental and social review for their activities over the years 2009 and 2010, and a review of the implementation of the environmental and social management systems at ECARU facilities.
- Environics conducted a review based on the Performance Standards (PS) of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the relevant national laws and regulations.
- This review addressed two levels: the Environmental and Social Review of ECARU/ENTAG Companies, and the Environmental and Social Review of the ECARU/ENTAG Facilities.
- The data collection phase of the review involved field visits to the companies’ facilities, interviews with stakeholders, and the use of tailored questionnaires and checklists.
- Based on the conclusion of the two sections of the review, actions were recommended to ensure the complete compliance of the companies with the relevant standards, laws and regulations.
