Procter and Gamble Egypt (PGE) plants at the 6th of October City manufacture a number of products including detergents, soaps, and sanitary paper. One of the production raw materials was being substituted and the company commissioned Environics to carry out environmental monitoring for assessing the impact of the new substance.
Environics carried out site visits and requested the Reference Laboratory of the Faculty of Science at Ain Shams University to take air measurements of the workplace and the emissions point source before and after the introduction of the new substance.
The final report on the environmental monitoring for assessing the impact of the introduction of the new substance comprised: Environmental and health impacts of the new substance and its regulatory exposure limits; production process involving the new substance; measurement results and their assessment; hazard mitigation plan and recommendations.
