Phase I EDD for a Food Manufacturing Company

Environics, in cooperation with Chemonics Egypt, was commissioned to conduct a Phase I Environmental Due Diligence for a Food Manufacturing facility located in 6th of October Industrial zone, Cairo.

The audit was conducted in general accordance with the methods and procedures described in the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process and ISO 14015 Environmental assessment of Sites and Organisations, as far as practically applicable.

The audit comprised an assessment of documentation, a walkover of selected areas of the site and its vicinity, and discussions with site personnel.

A review of past and present operations at the site and surroundings was undertaken with the primary objective of identifying recognized environmental conditions, determining known and potential environmental non-compliance and nuisance, and assessing the financial aspects of any identified environmental liabilities associated with the potential acquisition of the Company.

A report presenting the key findings and addressing the environmental concerns identified during the assessment was prepared, and recommendations for actions/measures to be taken were suggested.
