Socio-economic study as part of the Integrated ESIA (IESIA) for Tourism Development in Gamsha Bay

  • DAMAC Properties commissioned Environics to conduct an Integrated Environmental Impact Assessment (IEIA) for their planned tourism project at Gamsha Bay, on the coast of the northern Red Sea, Egypt.  The then proposed project included: residential villas; town houses; apartments along with hotels and beach resorts; commercial amenities; entertainment and sports activities, waterways and canals (artificial lagoons), and beach front activities.
  • Detailed baseline studies for this project covered the physical & biological environments, and included Socio-economic survey encompassing: population; transportation; economic activities; stakeholder consultation and public disclosure.
