- GIZ’s Participatory Development Programme in Urban Areas (PDP) commissioned Environics to carry out the EIA required for the development project of the Solid Waste Transfer Station of Khusus in Qalyubiya Governorate.
- The Egyptian laws and regulations do not necessitate conducting an EIA for such a project; however, GIZ demanded carrying out a Form-B EIA for the project to ensure its sound environmental management. Chemonics Egypt (CE), Environics’s sister company, prepared the station’s design; a process to which Environics provided continuous environmental consultation. Accordingly, CE finalized the environmentally accepted scheme for the station and Environics then conducted the EIA study for the project based on GIZ’s requirement.
