Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for The Proposed Extension

Platinum Stabilizers Egypt, located in Orascom Industrial Area, Sokhna, received environmental approval in 2023 for its original project producing PVC additives. The company now intends to expand by acquiring an additional 10,000 m² of land and increasing capacity through the introduction of stearate-based products (12,000 t/y) and CPVC additives and compounds (25,000 t/y), along with new warehouses and production facilities, while sharing utilities with the existing plant.

Environics has been invited to prepare a Scoped-B Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the expansion, in compliance with Egyptian Environmental Law 4/1994 (and amendments) and SCZone requirements. The study:

  • Addressed environmental impacts during construction and operation phases.
  • Utilized baseline conditions from the original project’s EIA (2023).
  • Included mitigation measures, impact assessment, and an Environmental Management & Monitoring Plan.
  • Was prepared in Arabic and English, with the Arabic version submitted to SCZone for approval.
  • Provided technical support during the SCZone review process.
