- Mirage Co. for Hotels & Touristic Development (one of Travco group of companies) was in the process of establishing a resort at North Abu Al-Darag, an area located on a mountain top overlooking the Gulf of Suez. Due to its location within a mountainous area, an overpass was to be constructed to connect the resort to the beach area.
- Environics was commissioned to prepare an EIA study for the construction and operation of the overpass and marine platform.
- The EIA included:
- Description of the proposed project & its components.
- Description of the receptor environment.
- Development of a bathymetric map for the project location.
- Discussion of the project alternatives.
- Identification & assessment of environmental impacts, and presentation of mitigation measures.
- Outline for an environmental management and monitoring plan.
