PICO Energy was developing a report on energy in Egypt providing in-depth and objective assessment of the complete value chain of the industry in Egypt. Environics was assigned the development of the environmental section of this report.
The scope of the environmental section included assessment of the environmental impacts of the various energy sources namely, Crude Oil, Natural Gas and renewable energy sources (Hydro/Wind/Solar/Biomass).
The assessment covered the life cycle of the energy source starting from its extraction from nature until its conversion into electricity or its consumption by the end user, as the case may be.
Moreover, all environmental impacts were identified and assessed and mitigation measures identified for minimizing negative environmental impacts.
Projections of environmental impacts based on future energy supply and demand data were also carried out.
