Pfizer commissioned Environics to carry out a HSE compliance and management system audit for its Egypt facility and a new construction site. The audit was to assess the compliance with applicable local EHS regulations, as well as the adherence to corporate policies and procedures, good industry standards, and EHS management practices.
Environics reviewed all relevant regulations and standards and conducted site audits.
The site audits included: reviews of available documentation; permits; licenses/consents; employee training programs (contents and documentation); emergency response procedures; communication with and reports to local authorities; operation procedures at the time, and HSE-related practices.
The information and data were analyzed to assess potential EHS risks and liabilities association with historical and ongoing operations at and adjacent to the facility.
The audit also covered the construction site, focusing on the HSE performance of the contractors. Findings were categorized according to their significance and a report was prepared and discussed with local and corporate management.
