Environmental & Social Monitoring for 6 Electricity Projects against World Bank Requirements (transformer stations & OHTLs)

  • Environics was commissioned by EETC to provide consultancy services for six projects to ensure compliance with the World Bank requirements:
    • Zahraa El-Maadi Transformers Station (500 KV)
    • Ain Sokhna Transformers Station
    • Zahraa El-Maadi – South Helwan Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) (500 KV)
    • North Hurghada Transformers Station (220 KV)
    • Qusair Transformers Station (66 KV)
    • Safaga – Qusair OHTL (220 KV)
  • Services included:
    • Environmental and Social Monitoring comprising document reviews, site visits, reporting and recommendation of actions to implement the Environmental & Social Management Plan (ESMP)
    • Reporting and periodical meetings with the environmental and social management EETC officials and project implementation contractors.
    • Classroom and on-the-job training for relevant EETC officials on the implementation of the World Bank environmental and social management requirements.
    • Technical support to the monitoring and sampling processes through assistance in preparation of Terms of Reference (ToRs) for measurement and sampling laboratories and entities.
    • Technical support to the preparation and implementation of the Grievance Redress Mechanism and Resettlement Plans.
