  • Solariz ACC was planning to establish a photovoltaic plant within the factory of the Arabian Cement Company in Ain Sokhna (ACC Cement Company), in order to feed the factory’s internal grid with electricity as clean and renewable energy and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases resulting from burning Fossil fuels, and this is considered a pioneering experience in the cement industry in Egypt.
  • An agreement was made between Solariz ACC and the Arabian Cement Company to sell the electricity produced from the PV plant to the cement factory in Sokhna to be used in the operation activities, or sell the surplus by clearing system from the electricity bill.
  • Solariz ACC commissioned Environics to prepare the EIA study for the project to assess the potential environmental impacts during the construction, operation and decommissioning phases of the project.
  • Environics prepared a scoped EIA study (Form-B) which encompassed: description of the project and its different phases, study objectives and scope of the study, analysis of alternatives, description of the baseline environment in the project area, description of the relevant legal, legislative and administrative framework, assessment of the potential environmental impacts and proper mitigation measures, and the environmental management and monitoring plan.
