EIA study for Shredding & Sterilization Equipment at Theodor Bilharz Research Institute

  • Theodor Bilharz Research Institute commissioned Environics to prepare a Scoped (B) EIA study for Shredding and Sterilization Equipment available in the institute’s  Health Waste Management Unit.
  • Environics carried out a field visit to the unit and the surrounding area to determine the special features of the project.  Baseline Information was acquired from studies, reports and published researches on the area as well as satellites images and data gathered during the field visit.
  • A scoped (B) EIA study was prepared including: project description, scope and objectives, inputs and outputs, the legal and administrative framework of the project, description of the baseline environment and analysis of the proposed alternatives to the project.
  • The study also encompassed assessment of potential environmental impacts and proposed mitigation measures as well as the outline of the project’s Environmental Management and Self-Monitoring plan.
