Abu Zaabal Fertilizers and Chemicals Company had planned to replace two old production lines of SSP at its facility at Abu Zaabal, Qalyoubiya, with one new line of higher capacity. The new line was to adopt an up-to-date technology that reduces the pollutant loads caused by the SSP production process.
According to the stipulations of the Egyptian Environmental law, this project required a “From B” EIA study. Environics carried out document reviews and site visits to prepare the EIA, which covered the construction and operation phases of the production line.
