- The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) is establishing a Gas Insulated Substation (GIS station) in Imbaba District in Cairo.
- The contractor of this project is a Consortium of AVIC International Holding Corporation & Energy Solutions and Technology (EST). The contractor is responsible for the engineering, design, procurement, supply, execution, installation and commissioning on a Turnkey basis the works. The GIS station construction started in March 2016 and operation is expected to start in October 2016.
- Environics was commissioned to conduct Form-B Environmental Impact Assessment as required by Egyptian regulations. The EIA described the projects phases (construction and operation) as well as the relevant environmental laws and regulations. The study analyzed the environmental impacts, recommended appropriate mitigation measures for each impact, and developed the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan.
