ESIA Studies for the addition of Chemical Substances for Handling and Storage

Share:
  • Alexandria Chemicals Terminal Company was established for the handling and storage of chemical substances in Dekheila Port, Alexandria.  The company temporarily stores liquid chemical substances in its specialized tanks for its clients; the users of these chemicals.
  • The company received environmental approval to establish these tanks in 2011.  This approval necessitated preparing Environmental Impact Assessment studies (Form-B) for the chemicals to be added to the list of chemical substances authorized for handling and storage in the 2nd phase tanks (13 tanks).
  • The studies were prepared by Environics in accordance with the Egyptian Environmental laws and encompassed generally: project description, environmental laws and regulations relevant to the stored chemicals, assessment of environmental impacts, and description of the appropriate mitigation measures, as well as the Environmental Management Plan.
