- KIMA commissioned Environics to assess the project’s ESIA against the Equator Principles (EPs), and its compliance with the IFC requirements to which the EPs refer.
- The ESIA review:
- Presented the updated and additional data, and accordingly amended the sections concerning air emission loads, water extraction, wastewater management, and the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP),
- Re-addressed the mitigation measures in light of the more detailed design of the project at that stage, and
- Identified and completed the EPs/IFC requirements that were not addressed in the ESIA, since they are not requested by the Egyptian regulations.
