ESIA for 20 MW Photovoltaic Plant in Hurghada

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)
NREA and JICA were in the process of establishing a 20 MW photovoltaic (PV) power plant, to be connected to the national electricity grid.
Project site was allocated in Hurghada, in the wind farm area, approximately 9 Km north of Hurghada City.
ESIA was developed in accordance with Egyptian Environmental Law 4 of 1994 and its executive regulations amended in 2012, as well as JICA’s environmental standards and guidelines.
ESIA covered all the components of the plant at the site preparation, construction, start up, and operation phases.
